Artists in Rosedale, making the best of the fine weather.
A group of fourteen artists from Grimsby and Cleethorpes were in Rosedale Abbey on Sunday 12 July, under the tutelage of Leslie Treacher of Leslie Treacher Painting Holidays, based at the Mustard Seed Gallery in Cleethorpes (01472 200338)
Fortunately for the water colourists in the group the weather was fine if a little blowy!
Well, it’s up! The message is revealed as ‘North York Moors’ and can be seen on the hillside at Greenbank off the Knott Road, although a better view can seen from Daleside Road (on the way to School Row and Hill Cottages). Or better still with a private helicopter!

A beautiful hand made double quilt and two pillow cases are being auctioned in aid of The Childrens’ Hospital Charity ( www.tchc.org.uk )

The quilt can be seen at the Flower of May Campsite reception where bids (starting at £35) should be lodged in writing – name address and telephone number and amount of bid – at the reception desk by Monday 4 May 2015. For further information call Vanessa on 01751 417272.
A group of freelance artists from South Yorkshire have been commissioned to paint a VERY LARGE message on the hillside at Greenbank, beside the Knott Road in Rosedale East.
Rob Conway, Cecilia Browne and James Brunt
The message should be completed and all will be revealed by the weekend so look out for it – if it is safe and legal to do so – as you drive up the Knott next week. They will also be painting some of the Richardson’s sheep blue (les sheep bleu) on Tuesday so try and spot those as well.
Little Bo Peep appears to be waiting for her pink sheep to turn up, or perhaps it’s a fella she wants!

A 616bhp McClaren MP4-12C supercar was spotted recently in Rosedale. Keep an eye out for more exotic motor cars in the dale in the near future.
