In Memoriam – Diane Hughes, 1932 to 2020

A Service of Thanksgiving for the life of Diane Hughes will be held in the St Mary and St Lawrence Church, Rosedale Abbey, on Thursday 23 January 2020 at 2.00pm – all are welcome and the family ask that all attending wear a splash of colour.

CAMRA Award – Pub Of The Season 2019

The York branch of the Campaign For Real Ale recently awarded the Coach House Inn, Rosedale Abbey, the title of Country Pub of The Season Autumn 2019, praising Dave Oakey and his team for their success in transforming the Coach House Inn over the last three years into a haven for real ales and ciders, and good pub food.

Rosedale Wildlife Week – 23 to 29 June 2019

Aerial Survey – 14 May 2019

For those who may have wondered what all the helicopter activity was over Rosedale West on Tuesday 14 May – it was an Aerospatiale 350B aircraft belonging to the PDG Group based in Inverness who carry out surveys of power lines for the National Grid.

Hospices UK Cheese and Wine Party – 22 March 2019

Craig and Helen hosted a fund raising cheese and wine party at the Abbey Stores on Friday evening in aid of Hospices UK. Enjoyable wines and cheeses from around the world and a very tempting raffle helped raise the magnificent total of £810.50.

Helen and Nicola have set themselves a target of £4500 and are planning a number of other fund raising events in the next twelvemonth, including an arduous Arctic challenge in January 2020 when they will travel to northern Finland to take part in snowshoe treks, cross-country skiing and dog sledding, all in expected minus 30c temperatures!

They’re Back!

Darren and James are back in business after their short winter break with the ever popular Graze on the Green having opened on Saturday 9 February.

Customers enjoying the benefit of a smart new wood burning stove.

Winter opening hours are – Monday and Tuesday: closed, Wednesday to Friday: 10.00am to 5.00pm, Saturday and Sunday: 09.00am to 5.00pm.

So forget all those tiresome New Year resolutions and get stuck into some delicious nosh!

Santa Visits Rosedale – 3 December 2018

As forecast earlier, Father Christmas was able to include Rosedale in his very busy schedule and so he came to the village on a cold but clear eveing to meet the boys and girls gathered by the school gates.
