Rosedale Remembrance Sunday – 13 November 2022

A Service of Remembrance will take place at 10.45 am on Sunday 13 November at the Rosedale War Memorial in the churchyard in Rosedale Abbey. The service will include prayers, the reading-out of names of Rosedale’s fallen, The Invocation, a minutes silence then the Kohima Epitaph followed by wreath laying and the National Anthem. All are most welcome.

CROWN BEACON

The beacon that was used for the HM The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee has been galvanised and placed in a temporary location on the village green in Rosedale Abbey before it is sited as a permanent memorial to the late Queen Elizabeth’s outstanding 70 year reign.

MEMORIAL SERVICE FOR HM THE QUEEN – SUNDAY 18 SEPTEMBER 2022

A Service of Prayer and Thanksgiving for her late majesty The Queen will be held in St Mary and St Lawrence Church, Rosedale Abbey, on Sunday 18 September at 8.00pm. All are most welcome.

ROSEDALE CALENDAR 2023

The popular Rosedale Calendar, in aid of the Save Rosedale Church Appeal, is now available for sale at £10 a copy from Abbey Stores and the Rosedale Caravan Park/camp site shop. Copies will also be available at the Coach House Inn during the coffee morning from 10.00 to 12.00am on Saturday 3 September and also at the Rosedale History Society Tea and Chat in the Updale Reading Room on Sunday 4 September from 14.00 to 16.00 pm.

Don’t delay as these are popular items, ideal as Christmas presents and to send to friends and family living away from Rosedale!

ROSEDALE MAKE, BAKE AND GROW – 20 AUGUST



Saturday 20th August,  Church Turret Field and Rosedale Abbey church.  Free admission.

Show entries open for public viewing  1-4pm. 

Also History Society display,  children’s activities,  raffle,  plant and produce stall, arts and craft sale, and tea and cakes stall .

Donations of surplus plants and fruit and vegetables would be much appreciated, to sell for show funds.  Please bring them along on the day.

Finally, the very popular Rosedale Calendar for 2023 will be on sale in the church on the day for £10 a copy in aid of the Save Rosedale Church Appeal

JUBILEE FUND RAISING

From Lorrie Westwood: the following donations have been made from the monies raised in the collection buckets over the weekend of the Jubilee period:


£100 to the church for use of the Turret field.
£100 to the Reading Room for meetings.
£100 to the cricket/football for their help.
£150 to the Community Fund.

The Barraclough Gillings Wedding – 18 June 2022

Jade Barraclough, the daughter of Chris and Maggie Barraclough, of Dalehead Farm, Rosedale East, was married on Saturday 18 June to Richard Gillings in St Mary and St Lawrence Church, Rosedale Abbey, with Rev Christine Haddon-Reece officiating.
