As part of the Bandomonium Brass Band Festival, a number of bands from the county, hosted by the Kirkbymoorside Brass Band, toured local pubs in the area on Saturday 5 September, adding greatly to the pleasure of the customers at the Coach House Inn in Rosedale Abbey.

A reminder that there is a community bus service on Mondays (except Bank Holidays) from Rosedale to Pickering. In outline, the bus picks-up passengers at Abbey Stores at around 10.25am then at Hill Cottages at 10.30am before arriving in Pickering at 11.05am. The return pick-up is at Pickering Library at 2.05pm, arriving in Rosedale Abbey at around 2.45pm.
The quarterly meeting of the Rosedale History Archive will be held in the Updale Reading Room/Village Hall on Sunday 7 September from 2.00 to 4.00pm. There will be the usual extensive range of historical and archive material available long with excellent tea and cakes, so come along if you want to research family background or the social and industrial history of the dale. Entrance is free but donations in aid of the running of the archive would be welcomed.

The coffee morning in the Coach House Inn on Saturday 6 September from 10.00 to 12.00am will be in aid of the Rosedale Church Appeal.

There will be a cake and produce sale as well as the ever popular raffle, along with good coffee and company so Dave and the team at the Coach House look forward to welcoming you.
After a slight delay, the much anticipated re-opening of the Graze on The Green Tearoom has happened today in Rosedale Abbey, with Sam and Andrea in charge:

The tearoom will open from Wednesday to Sunday, between 9.30am and 4.00pm, for teas, coffees, cakes and sandwiches to eat in and take out, as well as breakfast and lunch menus. For bookings and enquiries contact grazeonthegreen1@gmail.com .
So, a hearty Rosedale welcome and best wishes to the new team in GoG!
For all of us suffering from gourmet gateaux deprivation since Darren and James closed down their business after ten hard working but profitable years in Rosedale, the very good news is that Sam and Andrea Miller are intending to re-open the bakery and tea room on Saturday 16 August, Show Day as it happens!
Sam, who hails from York, intends to open initially for teas, coffees and cakes before developing the business to reflect his widespread experience in hospitality which has included working in high end restaurants in Denmark, France, and Spain. So we welcome Sam, Andrea and their two children to Rosedale and wish them all the very best of luck for their new adventure here.

Your show needs you!
This a call for help to set up the show field on Tuesday evening, 12 August from 6.00pm – if you can spare a couple of hours please come along with a pair of gloves and some scissors and join in setting up the arenas for the show.

And then on Sunday morning, hangovers permitting, please come again and help take down the barriers and strip out the Industrial and craft tents. The weather is set fair so bring along the family to help out.
The next Coffee Morning, Cake Sale and Charity Raffle will be held in the Coach House Inn on Saturday 2 August from 10.00 to 12.00am in aid of Ryedale Special Families.
Dave Oakey and the Coach House team look forward to seeing you all then and there!
As posted on the door to the cafe, Darren and James have announced that they have sold the business and will be moving to Scotland shortly.

They have run the tea room with great skill over the last ten years, establishing a legendary reputation for their hospitality and the quality of their coffee and baking. We wish them the very best for their new life in the far North and look forward to welcoming Sam and Andrea to Rosedale in the near future.
