Welcome to the Rosedale blog. This is where we share news and information about events in Rosedale and the wider community throughout the year. You’ll also find news about the village timetable, our micro enterprises, school events, clubs, and lively socials.
Now that the fuss had died down, some pictures from the great day:
Three happy visitors up at Bell End Farm
The peleton or bunch whirling passed Bell End Farm
The Rosedale Swing Band in fine form
Even noisier – the children’s brass band!
The pop-up tea and cake stall that raised £685 for the church and school.
And finally, thanks to all those many who put up bunting, designed wonderful artifacts to decorate the approaches to and the village itself and generally helped make 1 May a special day for all in the dale.
Well, it’s up! The message is revealed as ‘North York Moors’ and can be seen on the hillside at Greenbank off the Knott Road, although a better view can seen from Daleside Road (on the way to School Row and Hill Cottages). Or better still with a private helicopter!
Welcome to the Tour de Yorkshire
Beautiful bright lights shine out over the dale to welcome the Tour de Yorkshire. See them on the hillside near Rosedale Abbey Golf in their full glory as the the sun goes down. Many thanks to Rosedale Lighting for the fantastic display.
Meanwhile, in the village church, a late Easter entry for the #TdY is warming up on the eggxercise bike.. Pop in for a look see at the creative work of the village school children.
Jonathan Cowap spoke to a local this morning live on his morning show in connection with Rosedale’s preparation for the Tour De Yorkshire. We have much planned in the dale: land art, cycling to create electricity and so many projects involving many, many folks in the dale. If your coming up to watch the race on The Cote de Rosedale Abbey there will be ample organised parking spots and plenty of refreshments to enjoy after the riders have passed by.

Catherine is now a regular on BBC Tees & BBC York having given a great interview about the Tour de Yorkshire. Listen in at tea time and you may just catch her, or call into Graze on the Green tea room for a cuppa and cake right on the route of the Tour de Yorkshire
