The first of our now quarterly Tea, Chat & History meetings takes place in early March. Please make a note of the dates for 2022: 6 March, 5 June, 4 September and 4 December.
These informal meetings are between 2.00 – 4.00pm. on Sunday afternoons at the Updale Reading Room, Rosedale. The archive will be available to browse and research, and we look forward to welcoming our regulars as well as new visitors.
Any regulations due to the ongoing Covid situation will, of course, be observed. Please contact rosedalehistory@hotmail.co.uk for further information.

Wishing all a very Happy Christmas and a safe and healthy New Year.
Father Christmas is, of course, used to cold weather where he lives at the North Pole, but Rosedale did its best to make him feel at home on a breezy, sleety night with lots of young boys and girls giving him a warm welcome!

Thanks again to Father Christmas and to his elves from the Ryedale Lions for coming to Rosedale and for giving such a great start to the festive season.
This coming weekend we will be having a coffee morning in the Coach House on Saturday, 4 December, 10.00-12.00. There will be the usual raffle and cake sales, and donations for either or both will be gratefully accepted.

On the following day, Sunday 5th, between 2.00-4.00pm., we will be having our first Tea and Chat meeting back in the Updale Reading Room in almost two years. We look forward to seeing some familiar faces and also welcome new ones to our very informal get-togethers. Could those who would like to come along please bring a mask and respect social distancing. Refreshments will be available.
Please note, future meetings are going to be quarterly, not monthly. Our meetings for 2022 will be held on the first Sunday in March, June, September and December.
In defiance of Storm ARWEN the Christmas auction went ahead in The Coach House Inn on Saturday and even with a reduced attendance over previous years and thanks to the generosity of those who donated items for the auction and those who bid for them, over £2000 was raised for the Reading Room fund.
Thanks also to Sue Foster and Lorraine Dale for organising the event and, as always, to Dave Oakey and the team at the Coach House for hosting it so efficiently.
Great news – Father Christmas will be paying a second visit to Rosedale on Saturday 4 December!
All children in the dale are invited to an Xmas Party to meet him between 2.30 to 5pm at the Updale Reading Room. Please let Sam know the numbers and age of children from your family on 01751 417199 or 07786506222 as soon a possible.
